The missing prescription: Food as medicine topic of Nov. 24 lunch in Milwaukee

Tuesday, November 24, 2026 (11:30 AM - 1:30 PM) (CST)

Description

Asif Naseem, CEO of Wauwatosa-based GenoPalate, will explore how personalized nutrition is changing the way people think about preventing and managing health conditions at the Tech Council’s lunch event Tuesday, Nov. 24, in Milwaukee.

GenoPalate is a nutritional genomics company that analyzes a person’s DNA to provide personalized recommendations on foods, recipes and nutritional supplements. Naseem, a serial entrepreneur, joined GenoPalate’s board in 2023 before becoming CEO.

Naseem will discuss the growing “food is medicine” movement, how genetic insights can help guide everyday food choices and what it takes to build a health-tech company in Wisconsin. He will sit down with Maggie Brickerman, president of the Tech Council, for a fireside chat.

The luncheon will be held at the Milwaukee office of Husch Blackwell, 511 N. Broadway, Suite 1100. Registration, networking and lunch begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by the program at 12:15 p.m.

“Wisconsin has a lot of strengths in food and health care, and GenoPalate is a great example of what can happen when those two industries come together,” Brickerman said. “Asif has taken science and data and turned them into something that can help people make better decisions about their health.”

Students, veterans and entrepreneurs may attend at no charge. Admission is $25 for individual Tech Council members and $40 for general admission. Tech Council corporate members attend for free.

The Wisconsin Technology Council is the independent, nonpartisan science and technology adviser to the governor and Legislature. It is a nonprofit organization that provides programs, events and connections to help entrepreneurs, investors and technology companies across Wisconsin. Startups are encouraged to join the Wisconsin Startup Coalition to receive a complimentary corporate membership to the Wisconsin Technology Council.
